Menstrual Cycle Magic: The Wobble

One moment each month, I’ll feel “the wobble.”

Through my entire being, it’s this wob-wob-wob down to the ground within. Like a submarine landing on the ocean floor, like a DJ dragging the track, I enter those deepest, slowest frequencies. My whole being stills and touches down.

Shortly after, a trickle of blood to confirm: menstruation has started. I’ve arrived back home. I’m deeply set. And I’m grateful for this experience each month. It reorients me. It’s a wobble back into the pure present moment. My whole being arrives…once again.

I do my best to hold space and be present to this. I’m conscious of it.

This is what I find so magical about menstrual cycle awareness: it’s a form of consciousness. It’s not really something to do, but to become.

It’s the realization that beauty and the power of life unfold within us. The cosmic energetic dance dances within us, whether we’re conscious of it or not.

Choosing to bring our presence to it is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves. And through that high vibrational frequency we find ourselves in, we both offer and receive love. Love and a deep presence within the world around us, and the world within us.

The ground of our being is a place we arrive in naturally through the menstrual cycle, and is also an inner place that we can consciously bring ourselves to whenever we choose.

Anytime that we wish, we can come back home and touch down. It’s just about developing that relationship with the inner **self.

The ground of our being is something we can experience at the very end of a completely relaxed exhalation (you can try it right now with a biiig breath in, pause, and a siiigh out through your mouth (all the way), pause).

The ground of our being is something we can experience when we’re deeply sat and embodied (embodied = present within the body). Nature can support us in arriving fully and wholly in our bodies. Nature reflects to us our own essential, beautiful self, and so many of us are naturally drawn to it.

The ground of our being is something we can experience in the state of Yoga Nidra, too. It’s a deeply restorative and meditative practice, known for its natural support of the nervous system, menstrual cycle and circadian rhythms. The process of Yoga Nidra naturally relaxes you through the layers of your inner being. When we relax very deeply in this way, siiigh, it’s as if we’ve ‘arrived.’ All of our best and truest insights are found here. Clues and love notes from our deeper mind and inner self.

This May, you’re invited to rest in the deeper parts of yourself, whatever that looks like for you. A place to restore, receive, and emerge totally rejuvenated.

A lesson from the Flowers this month: you must root in order to grow.

Thank you for reading.

With Love,
Jaylyn
